The Angler and Antelope Guesthouse Guest Reviews
Warm and very accommodating hospitality. Thank you very much Alan. The fly fishing excursion was value for money and a memorable experience for myself and my husband. Food excellent, stunning clean, comfortable rooms. Will definitely be back to explore more of Somerset East.

Stayed at Angler and Antelope recently. Excellent accommodation - exquisitely and tastefully furnished rooms a d hos that are unbeatable. Even catered for my wife who is a partial vegetarian- always with a smile. Food also outstanding . The ambiance of the whole place is simply superb. Owner is also an excellent guide for fly-fishers.

Landscaping fine, interior decoration excellent, maintenance first rate, service first class, meals high quality. Management very friendly.
We spent 3 nights with Alan & Annabelle. The food, accommodation and hospitality was excellent. We managed to share some quality fishing time with Alan which was also a bonus. This was our second stay and will likely become a routine stop for our travels around the Eastern Cape in the future. Thank you for everything, Phil & Carina

The "Angler & Antelope" is located in the centre of Somerset East in old, historic residential buidings: the old church serves as reception and restaurant. The historic buildings are a beautiful and unique location.
The friendly and familiar atmosphere made me feel welcome and "at home" everytime I stayed; I have been here 3 times this year several weeks.
Nice, cozy rooms make a comfortable stay and the fantastic breakfast is a perfect start for the day.
The "Angler & Antelope" is perfect for exploring the Karoo or for fly-fishing.
I have stayed / overnighted at A & A on business trips a few times already. My RETURN AGAIN title of this review speaks for itself. Besides just the spacious, comfortable en suit bedrooms it is a pleasure to go to an early morning breakfast and enjoy the friendly company and service offered by Annabel & Allan.
Travelling around the Cape this was just about our best stay. Room was large, really clean and facilities placed by a person who has obviously suffered trying to use a hairdryer some distance from a mirror so full marks for that. We had dinner there and really enjoyed it, lamb done to perfection and so were the vegetables, a rarity we had found on our travels. Local museum was closed but our hostess went out of her way to call the curator who came and opened up for us and also gave a very interesting talk. Can highly recommend staying here.

The Angler and Antelope Guesthouse was a very pleaseant experience. The management and staff are friendly and hospitable, room occupied spacious and tastefully furnished with a fantastic bathroom. Excellent breakfast with the best coffee in the region served every morning.
I actually passed this place by accident back in April at which time they were fully booked! Nevertheless, both Alan and Annabelle promptly guide me to another recommendable B&B.
This time around I was fortunately booked from home, and really got the feeling of the place. Starting with a warm and hearty welcome upon arrival, the help settling into the rooms, and not least the grand full breakfast the next morning (with plenty of hot coffee)
Hope to see you soon again.
