Interesting information relating to the Angler & AntelopeSt Francis of Assisi - The church building on the premises of the Angler and Antelope is named after St Francis. St Francis was the founder of the Francisian order. He is known as the patron saint of animals, the environment and one of the two patrons of Italy. The Catholic Church is known to hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day, 4 October. He was born in Umbria circa 1181 and died on the 3rd of October 1226.
